Marcelino António Andrade dos Santos, born in the parish of Santo António das Pombas, municipality of Paúl, resident in São Vicente, completed the 2nd year of the complementary course and from an early age, still a student at Liceu Ludgero Lima, entered the world of arts in 1977 Influenced by his drawing teacher, he dedicated himself more to crafts, in the areas of weaving, tapestry and dyeing. From 1980 to December 2000, he worked at CNA as an employee performing the functions of Craftsman Monitor, Craftsman Teacher and Head of Production Section. 

As a teacher, he administered several courses on several Cape Verde islands: Maio, Santo Antão, Santiago, etc. and administered the weaving course at the National Museum of Ethnology in the city of Lisbon – Portugal. He participated in several exhibitions and several courses as a trainee both in the country and abroad.

As an artist, he has participated in carnival venues since 1984 and participates in all cultural events carried out by CNAD.

 

Currently, he continues to be in full creative activity in his studio.
